What pains you most here? Is it Ambedkar being whipped by Nehru or it is Gandhi being whipped by a Britisher.

I
don’t know whether the cartoon perfectly and appropriately defines the age (1949) as then no dalit was there in the crowd around to protest against, as in there was no
second opinion. But this is really an anachronistic way for the cartoon to
have appeared in 2006 when Ambedkar had attained a demigod status. I
guess it is a deliberate attempt to mock since educators have to be very
vigilant when it comes to history, given the controversies. Anyways,
the silver lining is that Arun Shourie, the writer
of the tome, should now be finally assured who is the BOSS of the
constitution which he is forced to follow. But sad the quality of
cartoons has not changed much in 60 years. However, the cartoon involves
my two favorite leaders who in their own way changed the course of
history. A relic of times must say
